Carl Lisek, Executive Director, South Shore Clean Cities: Since 2005, Carl has served as Executive  Director of South Shore Clean Cities, a non-profit sustainable transportation organization headquartered  in St. John, Indiana serving the entire state of Indiana. South Shore Clean Cities is one of more than 75  U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities coalitions dedicated to reducing the nation’s dependence on  petroleum by promoting clean, domestic, sustainable transportation fuels and technologies. Under his  leadership, South Shore Clean Cities has become the definitive resource in Indiana for sustainable  transportation. In the last decade alone, South Shore Clean Cities’ members and partners have reduced  petroleum use by more than 93 million gallons. Those reductions resulted in the greenhouse gas  emission equivalent of removing more than 178,500 passenger vehicles from the road for one year. In  2012, South Shore Clean Cities was recognized as having the largest increase in petroleum reduction by  the U.S. Department of Energy of any of the Clean Cities coalitions. In 2015, Carl was inducted into the  Clean Cities Hall of Fame. He serves as a Board Trustee of Transportation Energy Partners, a national  non-profit that serves as an advocate for the Clean Cities program. In addition to his role with South  Shore Clean Cities, he is also the Vice President and co-owner of Legacy Environmental Services, Inc. Carl  also serves on the Board of Directors for Campagna Academy, a nonprofit organization in Schererville,  Indiana founded as Hoosier Boys Town and dedicated to restoring hope and building dreams in at-risk youth.
