Matt grew up in ag on his family’s grain and swine farm in Rossville, IL.  Right out of high school, Matt started working in the seed industry at Hubner Industries learning all aspects of seed corn production, packaging, and distribution before changing focus and moving into specializing in corn genetics, testing, and agronomy for the last 20 years.  Prior to purchasing Martin Seed, Matt worked at Monsanto/ Bayer in the Corn States licensing division working in the eastern US corn market.  Now, as of January 2021,  Matt focuses his energies on his newly acquired 85 year-old seed brand where he specializes in soybeans, wheat, grass seed, and cover crops- as well as serving as the Business Development Manager for seed corn production for Hubner Industries.
